Forum Editorial Policy 101

Postby Admin » Sat Sep 22, 2007 2:44 pm

In a nutshell, these Forums have the purpose of eliciting and making available substantive information on code, software, and other topics in the general subject area of trading.

The goal here is a very high signal-to-noise ratio. This is a place for in-depth reviews, original research, targeted discussions (incl. Q & A), substantively presented philosophy and opinions, and private and semi-private collaborations.

Flame wars, ad-hominem attacks, and purely flippant or off-topic material of all kinds is outside the scope of what this board has been established to present. Our policy is one of mutual respect and regard, both for your fellow posters, and for your friendly neighborhood ForumAdmin.

More may be written on the subject of Editorial Policy if necessary, but the above should indicate the gist of it. Teach, learn, trade, and profit!

Product Support is Off-Board

Postby progster » Wed Sep 24, 2008 1:42 pm

The product sections of CFT Forum offer product introductions, information, pictures, videos, and a place to post general questions, answers, tips, tricks, tutorials, etc. that are product-specific.

However, product support per se, meaning installation support, operational issues, or bug reports is conducted via email and telephone in accord with the Customer Support policy as given here .

Please use the customer support contact info provided with your product to communicate with us directly on product support issues. Thanks!

Forum Editorial Policy 102

Postby progster » Sun May 31, 2009 9:43 pm

The aesthetic presentation of this Forum, and of all postings within it, is at the sole discretion of the management.

IOW, this Forum should be thought of more like a magazine than like a graffiti wall.

The editing and display capabilities of this Forum are generally as provided by the Forum software itself, and no specific attempt has been made to limit poster's aesthetic choices by technological means. This does not, however, preclude the bounding of aesthetics via moderation and editing by management.

If deemed necessary, user posts will be directly edited and/or deleted by the management to fit within the range of management's judgment of appropriate and desired aesthetics for this Forum.

Discussion of this, and all, Forum editorial policy is deemed to be off-topic to the Forum itself.

All posters are asked to understand and accept that CFT's open invitation to participate is not an invitation to transmogrify!

This policy is posted in the spirit of "up-front disclosure" (which we attempt to do here as a courtesy, as best we are able).

For the record, there have been no instances of "aesthetic assault" recorded as of this writing. 8-)
